D.T.C.S. CONSULTANCY

D.T.C.S. is a Private Limited Company (Reg no:5560638) and was formed in September 2005 by its Director Dave Thorley.

The Consultancy revolves around Outdoor Education, Youth Work and Fundraising. D.T.C.S. provides a service too a diverse clientele ranging from Schools and Voluntary Youth Groups to sitting on working parties advising the DFES. Although a new company in its infancy Dave has been at the forefront of Outdoor Education in London, recently having left the post of Centre Director at the Jubilee Outdoor Education Centre, a new £3 million redevelopment situated in Londons Kings Cross (www.jubilee-centre.org.uk). For the previous 10 years Dave worked for both the Statutory and Voluntary Youth Service sector as a Youth Worker in Dorset, Somerset and London as a volunteer, part-time and full-time worker.

Dave has also managed to Fundraise for a number of high profile projects in London over the last 3 years (a target of over £4 million pounds).

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES

  • Advisor on Outdoor Educational issues to a number of London Boroughs.
  • Lead worker in Londons Open Award Expedition Training Centre with a current annual intake of over 600 young people taking their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.
  • Responsible for leading on Educational training programmes for Schools and Youth Groups.
  • Liasing and receiving accredited status with the Central London Learning Skills Council and City and Guilds for NVQ delivery in Outdoor Education for post 16 education and the new modern apprentership 2 days per week programme for 14-16 year olds.
  • Currently on Outdoor Education working party re DFES Manifesto for Out of Classroom Learning experiences.
